THE SYSTEMATICS OF LEXEMES OF FOREIGN ORIGIN IN THE MODERN FRENCH LANGUAGE OF THE SUBURBS (ON THE MATERIAL OF THE NOVEL "DU REVE POUR LES OUFS" BY FAÏZA GUÈNE)

Abstract

The article is devoted to lexical units of foreign origin in the modern French language of suburbs. The material of the research is the novel “Du rêve pour les oufs” by Faïza Guène, a modern French writer of Algerian origin, working within the framework of a literary school called littérature beur and littérature urbaine (“Arabic literature” and “urban literature”). The article deals with the distinctive features of this literary trend and analyzes the lexical features of the novel. The aim of the article is to systematize the lexemes of foreign origin abounding in Faïza Guène's novel,
which involves building a dynamic model of the interaction of their form, function and meaning. On the basis of the analysis results the author makes a conclusion about the novel as a vivid example of foreign lexicon usage in the modern French suburban language in the fiction text.
