Abstract

The authors characterize the main directions of the cultural policy of the Soviet state in the Far East after the Great October Revolution. The history of the formation of the Soviet theatrical system is considered. Considerable
attention is paid to the theatrical direction as a conductor of the Soviet ideology to the general population. The analysis
was carried out on the example of the theaters of the Far East. The cultural policy of the state took into account various factors – the multinationality of the population of the Far East, the different social status of citizens. In the theatrical system, attention was directed to rural and urban residents, representatives of small nationalities, migrants, military personnel and other segments of the population. The Soviet government formed a system of centralized management and control over theater groups in the Far East. In conclusion, the authors conclude that the state policy was based on the important role of theatrical art as a conductor of ideology. The state stimulated the mass character of theatrical art and contributed to the wide popularization of the theater among all segments of the population.
