Abstract

The article is devoted to the main lines of research in the field of natural philosophy that were developed in Russian theological academies philosophy in the second half of the XIXth – early XXth century. The author considers the prerequisites for the emergence of Orthodox cosmology in Russian theological academies, the historical context of its making, as well as the fundamental principles around which it was built. The article shows that the philosophy of nature that was developed within Russian theological academies philosophy at that time is a unique attempt of coordinating natural science data and the principles of Christian cosmology and should be seen as an important stage in
its development.
