Abstract

Soviet military and economic assistance was crucial for the consolidation of the military efforts of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam during the Vietnam War. The vast majority of Soviet strategic cargo was delivered to North Vietnam by sea. The article discusses the participation of the Far Eastern Shipping Company in the implementation of this initiative. The authors analyze the factors that influenced the change in transport logistics after 1967 and led to a significant increase in FESCO’s participation in the transportation of goods to the ports of North Vietnam. The article also discusses other types of assistance to the Vietnamese side that the shipping company provided during this period.
