Abstract

The article presents the results of the reconstruction of the fishing based on the study of the remains of fish bones from the upper part and the surface of the Neolithic shell midden at the multilayer site Klerk-5. These layers are associated with the waves of settlers representing the Zaisanovskaya culture who migrated to the sea coast of Peter the Great Gulf from the valley of the Tumen River around 4100 years ago. According to the results of the reconstruction, the fishing of the ancient population of the site targeted at least eleven species of fish. Fishing was carried out in three aquatic environments - sea, lagoon, and river throughout the year, but its peak was in summer.
