Vladimir Arseniev’s heritage and the practices of working with it in public history (to the results of Arseniev’s Year in Russia)

Abstract

The paper analyzes the work with the heritage of the famous traveler, scholar and writer Vladimir Arseniev performed by Arseniev Museum of Far East History.
Based on modern concepts of public history, historical memory and heritage, the author characterizes the main events implemented by the museum during 2022 – Arseniev’s Year in Russia – and highlights the role of heritage as a tool for the formation of local identity.
