Abstract

The article deals with the problem of literary conflict transfer through literary translation from English into Russian. The study aims to identify the level of translation adequacy through the perspective of conflict transfer. The research was conducted on the material of the original American novel “The Kite Runner” by Khaled Hosseini and its Russian translation done by Sergey Sokolov. There were identified three types of conflict: interpersonal conflict, the conflict between a person and society, and intrapersonal conflict. Comparative analysis was implemented to study the linguistic means of conflict representation in the original text and conflict transfer in the translation of the novel.
