The article presents a description of different types of interrogative intonation errors in the Japanese speech of L1 Russian learners of Japanese. The material for the research includes recordings of Japanese interrogative phrases uttered in spontaneous dialogues by speakers whose native language is Russian. Acoustic analysis of these realizations has revealed a few intonation errors, which may be considered when developing a national-oriented teaching approach for learners of Japanese intonation.
