Abstract

Colon cancer is one of the most common malignant neoplasms, which occupies a significant place in the structure of oncological diseases both in Russia and abroad. The need for new approaches to drug therapy for colon cancer is due to the prevalence and mortality rate. Over time, approaches to the treatment of colorectal cancer have changed in the Russian Federation, as well as in the world, and new research has been conducted.

From 2012 to 2024, various targeted drugs and immunotherapy were included in Russian standards, which led to improved oncological results. This article provides a brief history of changes in RUSSCO's clinical recommendations, and provides various studies showing the effectiveness of new treatment options, on the basis of which they were adopted in clinical practice.
