Abstract

The author conducted an empirical study of the image of countries among Russian youth during 2002–2023. The factors of formation of the image of countries, the structure of the country's image have been studied; the rational (cognitive) level and the irrational (emotional-affective) level in the perception of the image of countries have been identified and studied; an interdisciplinary model of the image of any country in the world has been compiled; Methods have been created to study the image of countries at the international level and within one’s own country. The study lasted 21 years, taking into account all the changing realities in the world. The results of studying the image of the country in 2020–2023 among modern Russian youth revealed the increased influence of the opinions of bloggers, media personalities, YouTubers in the media space, media and the Internet on the perception of the image of countries. Especially after the 2020 pandemic, the importance of factors such as the nature and depth of information received about the country and emotional assessments in the media and the Internet has increased. Young people listen to influencers, so it is especially important for the formation of a positive image of Russia that opinion leaders, bloggers, YouTubers and media personalities express patriotism and broadcast it in the media space and the Internet. For this, the author recommends a comprehensive training for future and current media personalities, bloggers and influencers, based on instilling in them true patriotic feelings and high spiritual and moral responsibility to their country. The use of technologies for creating and improving image-forming information about the country should be created, implemented, controlled and encouraged at the state level, forming uniform standards to achieve the goal of forming a positive image of Russia within the country and at the inter-national level.
