In the conditions of active economic development of the Kamchatka Territory, it is planned to create a large number of new jobs, however, at the same time, there is an acute shortage of competent specialists in the labor market of the region. In many ways, the emergence of the problem is due to the outflow of the young population, which contributes to the manifestation of personnel hunger in the organizations of the Kamchatka Territory. The paper examines the relationship between the identification of young people with the urban environment and their career preferences, which affects the desire for migration.
