Abstract

The aim of the work is to identify the most common qualities of extreme
forms of undemocratic state regimes that determine the features of political and legal reality and determine the specifics of its genesis. The main content of the study involves analyzing the factors that cause instability of totalitarian systems, predetermining their collapse. The theoretical and practical significance is determined by the relevance of
knowledge of the essential qualities of undemocratic political regimes, which makes it
possible to effectively counteract the strengthening of totalitarian tendencies in modern
states. The political and legal analysis of the construction of statehood in different countries indicates that totalitarian states, which continue to exist in the XXI century, have
never achieved economic, ideological or other goals. The collapse of totalitarianism is
predetermined by internal substantial contradictions inherent and arising from its nature.
