Application of sealing materials (sealants) with improved physical and mechanical properties for movement joints of asphalt concrete and cement concrete airfield coatings and highways (coatings) is one of the ways to increase their reliability and durability. An effective way to control gelation and directed regulation of the properties of sealants in terms of improving physical and mechanical properties is the use of a complex of modifying additives based on superfine components of various mechanisms of action. The purpose of the article is to modify the structure and improve the physical and mechanical properties of sealants for movement joints of coatings by a complex of additives based on highly dispersed components. During the research, the choice of effective additives based on highly superfine components - fullerene-containing carbon, graphite and shungite, as well as a microreinforcing component - wollastonite, was substantiated. It has been experimentally established that the use of the proposed set of additives has a positive effect on modifying the structure of the bitumen-polymer sealant and improves its physical and mechanical properties - tensile strength, relative elongation at the rupture moment. Based on structurally phenomenological concepts, the role of highly dispersed additives in the mechanism of structure formation and increase in the strength characteristics of sealants is shown. Application of sealants modified by additives with improved physical and mechanical properties is recommended to increase the reliability and durability of the design of movement joints for airfield and highway coatings.
