The dependence of the operating time on the moves of the S-N curve in the low-cycle region is shown. Typically, the S-N curve is represented by two sections in the range of the number of cycles more than 104 and small stress amplitude. Under ice conditions, stress ranges reach the ultimate strength, and failure occurs with a smaller number of cycles. In this case, the first section of the S-N curve has a significant effect on the operating time under fatigue failure conditions. Three variants of the S-N curve in the first section are considered. For each section, the calculation of the time of operation of the vessel was made. It is shown that the reduction in operating time reaches 2.5 times when the S-N curve moves along the lower section.
