Abstract

Up-to-date methods of non-explosive (mechanical) mining of solid minerals are considered. The results of a comparative analysis of the main types of drilling equipment for mechanical mining and rock excavation are presented, their advantages and disadvantages are determined. The prospects for improving drilling rigs and surface miners are considered; the possibility of using the automated equipment in the extraction of minerals is discussed. The analysis of methods for increasing the energy and resource efficiency of drilling equipment revealed the problem of low efficiency and high cost of various reinforcement processes. A promising method for reinforcing drilling equipment has been identified and analyzed.
