Abstract

The monograph, presented by the authors' collective consisting of O.V. Maslovskaia, A.V. Kopieva, O.G. Ivanova, is devoted to architectural semiotics – the science of signs, sign systems and their functioning in architecture. The semiotics of architecture is revealed in the book through the study of four architectural archetypes: skyscrapers, bridges, squares, stairs – semiotically significant architectural elements that contrast with each other and collect the collage image of a contemporary city.
