Abstract

The article is devoted to the analysis of the formation and development of the format "Central Asia + China". The authors come to the conclusion that the rapid expansion of the region's interaction with China using the 5+1 formula indicates Beijing's intention to create a platform for deeper cooperation and the implementation of its own agenda in Central Asia. In this context, the Central Asian States need to develop a more pragmatic and carefully elaborated foreign policy, taking into account the available opportunities and potential risks, in order to prevent possible negative consequences.
