Abstract

The article examines the attitude of the United States and its Pacific allies toward Taipei at the present stage, paying special attention to the Taiwan issue. An analysis of recent actions by various parties shows that the attitudes of the U.S., Japanese, South Korean, Australian, and Philippine authorities toward the Taiwan issue are not the same. The United States continues to arm its allies to enable them to further drain China's power and stall its development in a possible future conflict. But America's allies also have their own considerations and will agree to some extent with Washington, but not to the extent that they will compromise their own interests and meet American expectations.
