Abstract

The article discusses the problems of memory politics and identity in Khabarovsk region. The case in question demonstrates the specifics of memory politics at the regional level, where mnemonic interactions and narratives may differ from the corresponding processes at the federal level. The interactions of key mnemonic actors are considered, the main zones of conflicts associated with different interpretations of the historical past are identified. The importance of the political use of the past for the formation of regional identity is demonstrated.
