Abstract

In this paper, a comprehensive study of the formation of the Hispanic population in the USA and Canada was carried out. The chronology is given and the periodization is highlighted with the criteria inherent in each stage of development of the Latin American diasporas. In many ways, immigration law helped to establish clearly defined periods. Comparative analysis made it possible to identify a number of patterns that distinguish Latin American diasporas in two essentially similar societies in the United States and Canada. The time frame, as well as the socioeconomic and political processes taking place within the examined states, left a noticeable mark on the formation of the modern image of the Latin American population of North America.
