ASEAN: features of current socio-demographic asymmetry

Abstract

The paper gives region demographic and socio-economic situation brief description, presents ASEAN countries distribution by groups according to the main demographic indicators. The authors have identified three groups of countries depending on demographic transition pace. It is emphasized that despite ASEAN sensitivity to impact of global megatrends, intraregional socio-demographic asymmetry is preserved. At the same time, the principle of noninterference following limits regional regulation
