Abstract

The article analyzes the dialogue between the man and the tiger, which is central to P.V. Fomenko's cycle of modern stories "Kiss of the Tigress". The subject of the study is a set of spiritual values associated with this dialogue. On the basis of comparative and systematic methods, the main forms of the dialogue are listed, the plots and images connected with it are considered, which are also given a cultural commentary. Parallelism, personification, universal symbols, and the non-linearity of the plot are highlighted as the main artistic techniques. The characters' ideas about such value categories as death, fate and life, understanding the other, friendship, honor and dignity, traditions, family and freedom are characterized. The image of the tiger created by P.V. Fomenko is a symbol of the life of the taiga, one of the greatest values of Russia
