Abstract

An international round table "National initiatives of Kazakhstan and Russia in the context of the development of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization" was held at Novosibirsk State University of Economics and Management. The message contains the main reports presented at the event. The main purpose of the expert meeting is to discuss both general trends in the development of interstate relations within the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in the context of the formation of a new institutional architecture of international relations, and national
intentions in relation to the Shanghai process. The discussion focused on issues such as: modern challenges for the SCO member states; the Shanghai process in the context of ensuring Eurasian security; Kazakhstan's vision for the development of the Shanghai process; the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and ensuring State-building in Afghanistan. Special attention was paid to the activities of the Kazakh side as the chair country from 2023–2024.
