"What stretches like the long tail of a pheasant": about receptions in translations of Japanese poetry

Abstract

The article is written in the form of a review of a new book by Far Eastern scientists. The monograph "Translation reception of poems and prose by Japanese poets" (2024) is positively assessed as a promising experience of the new generation of translators, relying on classical traditions in conveying the meaning of the original work through Russian and English. At the same time, attention is focused on the most striking examples of translations in the monograph.
