The article reviews the state of higher education in the Republic of the Union of Myanmar in the spring of 2023. The process of researching Higher Education in Myanmar is highly complicated because of the current political and economic turmoil that is happing in the country. Based on the available data and the data acquired through the Internet, the author of this article gathers a holistic picture of Higher Education in Myanmar. The data for writing the article was collected by analyzing articles by other authors and independently collected by the author of the article. The article analyzes the problems of Myanmar’s higher education, the structure of higher educational institutions of the country, as well as the prospects for the development of the country’s higher education in the future. The article
also covers the consequences of the current political and economic crisis in the field of higher education in Myanmar.
