One of the most urgent problems is to increase the level of digitalization of enterprises and organizations. An effective solution is provided for a wide range of management tasks, including those related to the transition to electronic document flow and an electronic means of transmitting information. The purpose of the study is to evaluate indicators that characterize the use of the types of information technologies — electronic data exchange between internal and external information systems, public services received from government authorities in the
electronic form, including payments, and creation of social media accounts by organizations located in different regions of Russia. The Rosstat information for 2020 served as the empirical data for the research. Modeling of the empirical data was based on the normal distribution density functions. The study has found that the technologies have different levels of application by organizations. It has shown that on average about 60% of organizations used electronic
data exchange between their own and external information systems in 2020. The level of public services received from government bodies in electronic form, including payments, was 48%. The average regional share of organizations that create their own social media accounts made up 34%. The study contributes to better understanding of the regional specifics in terms of the information technology use by
organizations in the regions of Russia.
