Immanent analysis is the initial stage of the analysis of a literary text, from which the overcoming of the imaginary clarity of a poetic work begins. The purpose of the article is to demonstrate the methodology of immanent analysis using the example of working with Igor Severyanin's poem “The Longing of the Storm” and to outline the possibilities of further contextual literary research. The article examines the role of the title, the main images in their interaction, the organization of the psychologism of the lyrical plot, the features of the chronotope, as well as the connection of meaning with rhythm and metrics.
