The study is devoted to the pragmatic peculiarities analysis of the Chinese proverbs functioning in the context of China's intercultural interaction with the world through the Chinese media published in English. The frequent use of ethnic proverbs by Chinese journalists is seen not only as a reflection of the national worldview specifics, but also as a means of additional influence on the English-speaking reader. The features of the translation and functioning proverbs in the English-language Chinese media, pragmatic strategies for the implementation of certain proverbs used are analyzed.
