Abstract

The article is devoted to analysis of the novel “Such days” created by the almost forgotten writer named Salias. A detailed comparison between this novel and Pushkin’s one named “The captain’s daughter” is conducted. In the Salias’ novel some prototypes of Pushkin’s characters are found: Mironov – Kandaurov, Grinyov – Baskakov, Masha – Tanya, Shvabrin and Pugachyov – Karajii. The concepts of danger neglect, exile and revenge, imposture, compulsory marriage and compromise with evil are also discussed.
