Abstract

The article, based on the material of song folklore and original poetry of Siberia and the Russian Far East during the Civil War, examines for the first time the evolution of traditional ideas about share, happiness, and destiny. Features of the implementation and functioning of the designated motives are revealed. Conclusions are drawn that ideas about share, happiness, and fate are partly in accordance with the traditional worldview; the differences are associated both with the peculiarities of the changing worldview, transmitted in late traditional folklore and original poetry of the early twentieth century, and with the specifics of the song genre.
