Abstract

Russian literature is inextricably linked with Christian tradition. The patterns and types of the Bible are rooted in consciousness and enable the writers to find the source of artistic models in it. The biblical background is often an integral part of Alexei Varlamov’s works. The novels related to the tradition of hagiographical schools are “The Sunken Ark”, “The Star” and “The Angel”. The elements of life are integrated into the author’s prose in different ways, allowing to expand the semantic tone and clarify the author’s spiritual pursuit.
