Abstract

The article considers cruelty to animals in accordance with foreign legislation. The focus is on US and Asian legislation. To date, many countries have enacted laws to protect the rights of animals and have developed clear mechanisms to implement these laws. The article pays special attention to the OIE standards for animal welfare as they are aimed at improving animal welfare and health worldwide.
