Abstract

The essay presents Doctor of Law, Professor, Corresponding Member of the USSR Academy of Sciences V. M. Chkhikvadze, whose 110th birthday was celebrated by the scientific community last year. His path to science is shown, his creative heritage in military criminal law and the theory of human rights is characterized, his activities as an organizer of education and science (head of the Military Law Academy and as the director of the Institute of State of the USSR Academy of Sciences), as well as the state and social activities, including in the UN and the World Peace Council (WPC).
