Abstract

There has recently been a sharp increase in the interest in the development of natural resources in the north-eastern part of Russia. Growth of the mining industry in this area is due to the increase in the need for industrial production in the world. Mining companies annually involve in their activities more and more territories of native lands of indigenous peoples, which leads to the violation of the habitat of biological resources that ensure the development of their traditional economic activities.

The article reveals the procedure for conducting research on the compilation of spatial data on the traditional nature management of the indigenous peoples of the Anabar and Olenek regions of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). An overview of the types of traditional economic activities of indigenous peoples living in the surveyed territories is presented. The problems encountered in the collection of information from tribal communities are considered. Spatial data based on the results of a survey of tribal communities of indigenous peoples in the study areas have been compiled.
