TRADE AND ECONOMIC COOPERATION BETWEEN TUVA AND MONGOLIA

The paper considers the state of trade and economic relation between Tuva Republic (of Russian Federation) and Mongolia. Analysis of the real results of foreign trade relations, the dynamics of export-import for Tuvan-Mongolian flows during 2011– 2021 years revealed a negative export balance. But foreign trade between Tuva and Mongolia has a positive trend, while the size of trade turnover is insignificant. So alternate trade between Tuva and Mongolia is becoming a factor in the economic development of the border republic. Today the major part in exports and imports are food industry stock, animal feed, flour and cereals industry products, malt, plastics and plastic products, knitted clothing and accessories, hats and their parts. The main goods exported from Tuva are food products, food industry stock, animal feed, and plastic goods. The main goods imported into the region are consumer goods. Traditional border trade is developing between Tuva and Mongolia, allowing the population to obtain cheaper goods and services. The nature of trade and economic relations with Mongolia is determined by open
transport system of Tuva, because there is no railway connection with the rest of Russia. Today automobile transport is the main, though expensive, way of transporting goods in Tuva. The extension of bilateral cooperation, promoting new ways for further intensive
interaction of the two countries are determined by such factors as transport accessibility including the road infrastructure for Tuva Republic and neighboring Mongolia. In general, extension of foreign economic cooperation between Tuva and Mongolia, transport infrastructure development are the long-term national interests of Russia, stimulating the creation of export-oriented industries based on local resources, their inclusion in dynamically developing international economic relations, creating an atmosphere of goodwill, mutual interest in everyday business cooperation in border areas.
