Abstract

The article gives a brief characteristic of the prehistory of modern criminal law in China, in particular the codes of Tang and Ming, shows the influence of Confucian and legist schools on the development of the Chinese criminal law, analyzes the main institutions of the General part of the modern Criminal Code of China, 1997, and reveals their specificity.
