There is an intensive development of unmanned driving technologies based
on the use of artificial intelligence systems in many countries of the world. Autonomous
automobile transport takes a special place among the various types of unmanned
transport. They are becoming a part of our life. There is a Program of experimental legal
regime in the field of digital innovations for the operation of highly automated vehicles in
the Russian Federation. And the draft law on highly automated vehicles is being developed. The countries of the Asia-Pacific region have achieved significant success in the
field of legal regulation of public relations related to the production and operation of autonomous vehicles. The purpose of scientific research is to analyze the legal experience in
the field of legal regulation of autonomous driving in the countries of the Asia-Pacific
region such as Singapore, China, and South Korea. Each of these countries, as one of the
national goals for the development of the digital economy, includes entry into a leading
position in introduction of unmanned vehicles into the transport system of the state. The
positive legal experience of these states, formed as a result of law-making activities
aimed at regulating public relations connected with the production and operation of autonomous vehicles, as well as the experience of implementing these legal norms in
practice, can be borrowed by the Russian Federation when creating and improving legislation on highly automated vehicles, which is currently being actively developed. In particular, the concept of an "autonomous co-driving system" developed by researchers from
South Korea and introduced into the legal practice of this state can be used.
