This study is devoted to the comparative analysis of five Russian translations of Georg Trakl’s poem “Menschheit”. The relevance of the research is determined by the significance of Trakl’s work in the context of Expressionism and the necessity of a deep understanding of its symbolic and philosophical complexity in translation. The analysis examines key aspects of conveying the poem’s apocalyptic atmosphere, religious symbolism, and Expressionist imagery. Special attention is paid to the choice of vocabulary, preservation of rhythmic structure, and degree of interpretation, all of which influence the artistic value of the text.
